Start summer on the right foot this Saturday at the Saint Alphonsus Capitol Classic, a mile-long run and celebration of fitness for children ages 6-14 of all abilities.

The race starts at the historic Boise Train Depot and ends at the State Capitol. Families can celebrate after the race at the Finish Fair in Capitol Park.

Now a tradition for many Treasure Valley families, the Saint Alphonsus Capitol Race Classic began in 1983 with the support of Ron and Betsy Twilegar, who wanted to inspire kids to enjoy running and improve their physical fitness. Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center joined as a race sponsor in 1987 with the support of Dr. Michael and Kirsten Coughlin. Proceeds from the event benefit the medical center’s programs that support children’s health.
