In honor of National Smile Week – we thought you would like to learn about the people behind the company of Delta Dental of Idaho, so we’ve asked Kym Browning, outgoing Corporate Communications Manager, about what makes her smile.
What makes you smile?
I smile every time I camp under the majesty of the Sawtooth Mountains in central Idaho. I smile when I think of my friend Sarah sending me random funny texts. I smile when I think of my father-in-law and Grandpa Haveman (they had big smiles and gentle eyes). And, I smile when I think of going off to the next adventure in life!
How do you think your smile makes other people feel?
It’s a gift to give a smile and even better to receive one. But the very best thing about smiles is that they are contagious! I love that you can walk in a room of people you don’t know at all and a smile becomes a shared experience.
Is there a type of smile you find adorable?
I believe that when you see someone smile with their eyes, there’s usually a smile in their heart. It’s hard to fake that. The first time I met my husband, I knew he was a good soul because his whole face lit up when he smiled!
What makes you smile about Delta Dental?
What makes me smile about Delta Dental is the great people! I’ve had the privilege to work at Delta Dental for seven years and love my co-workers. They are true professionals committed to our community and customers but they also know how to have fun and are very creative. It’s the shared laughter, camaraderie and stories that have touched my heart.
What do you think people should know about their teeth to keep them smiling?
Before working at Delta Dental, I took my dental health for granted. I brushed my teeth two times a day and never gave it another thought. I had no idea about the connections between the health of my mouth and the rest of my body and I am not shy now to share the information with others. (Although I’ve stopped sharing dental health trivia at the dinner table! My family wasn’t as enthusiastic about the subject as me.)
We hope you have enjoyed learning a little bit more about Kym and what makes her smile. The team at Delta Dental of Idaho smiles when we think about Kym and what a wonderful person she is and many contributions she has made to company and to growing awareness about the importance of oral health for Idahoans. Kym will be sorely missed and we wish her well on her new life journey.
