Make Your Dental Appointments Productive

June 6, 2017 Delta Dental of Idaho

Productive dental appointments

You’ve received your dentist checkup reminder—now what? Show up and take these 3 recommendations into consideration to get the most out of your appointment:

1. Consider the timing of treatments.
Additional procedures such as x-rays can add time to your appointment, but might save you a return visit.

2. Make your next dentist appointment before you leave.
To avoid missing an appointment, schedule your next one before you leave the office. Scheduling it early means you get first dibs on times!

3. Let the dentist know of any health changes or issues.
Letting the dentist know if you’re pregnant, have diabetes, or have seen other health changes at the beginning of the appointment will help him or her in their assessment of your health. And make sure to share if you have dental pain or other oral health issues. Your dentist will look into the issue more closely and can prevent small issues from turning into larger ones later.

Since you only visit the dentist a couple times per year, it is important that you make these appointments as valuable as possible.
