With 4.5 million acres of protected wilderness, camping in Idaho is one of our favorite things to do. From floating and fishing to swimming and s’mores, let your family experience the best camping in Idaho:
Bruneau Dunes State Park
We may not have a beach, but Bruneau Dunes makes up for that with sand dunes and a lake. Schedule some horseback riding at the equestrian center to soak up the sandy sights. Rent a cabin or reserve a campsite—depending on your family’s lodging preferences.
Three Island Crossing State Park
Just 72 miles east of Boise, Three Island Crossing is set on the Oregon Trail and the Snake River. Your family can fish, hike and even play Frisbee golf. Stay at a campsite or in one of 8 cabins.
Hells Gate State Park
Located in Idaho’s Banana Belt, Hells Gate is heaven for outdoor activities. Your family can splash in Snake River or take a bike ride along the Clearwater Trail. This park is also part of Idaho’s First Time Adventure program, where you can receive instruction on camping, bicycling and bird watching.
Adventure awaits your family in our favorite Idaho State Parks. Did we miss your family’s choice for the best camping in Idaho? Share it with us in the comments section!
